My mother is fine with it, his mother is a little..."concerned".
There are a lot of people around us who don't think that our age difference is...
Boys and girls have DIFFERENT areas in which they are mature/immature but overall they are all very close in maturity when it comes to dating/relationships.
I am curious if you have your own high school aged kids?
As a former high school teacher and a parent of 3 high school aged kids I don't see what you see.
Girls tend to physically mature before girls but cognitively and emotionally boys and girls in high school are very much on the same level, I would even give the edge to boys being more emotionally mature in high school then girls.
I think overall girls are more RESPONSIBLE then boys but that doesn't make them more or less mature.
We make a LOT of changes, and rapidly, in those first years out of high school.
While I know there is no "one size fits all" rule regarding dating, I thinking that teenagers dating older people is generally a really bad idea.My boyfriend is 18 and I'm 14, is that decent? We have been best friends for over five years, and just now decided to take that leap in our relationship. There is nothing a 14 year old child has for an 18 year old young man except a reason to go to jail.I must also add that I am intellectually "gifted", so he and I are in the same grade (we're Seniors in High School), so we've always thought the difference just fine. Best wishes, and enjoy being a child while you still are.--------------- And please watch out for advice from 15 year olds telling you how fine it is.
